In this month’s “Interpretive Reverberation” post, “No Job for Jesse” by Steve Van Matre, Van Matre considers the shrinking role of the interpretive/visitor experience staff. In the future none of us may be employed in the field due to position relevance, poor training, funding cut backs, automation and lack of experiential vision.
In case you’re wondering, an “Interpretive Reverberation” is a response to the pervasive approach to interpretive planning and training which often results in the need for a Design Challenge to be met and solved in the finished product. Reverberations provide a response to the "causes" of poor interpretation which usually have to do with planning and training.
Please click on the link to the Reverberation at the end of this paragraph, and after you have read the post return to our site and give us your thoughts by answering two questions and adding a few of your comments as well. But even if you don’t respond to the questions we invite you to enter a February drawing for the book Interpretive Design and the Dance of Experience by Van Matre that follows the questions. Enjoy…
